Fast Multipole Method Using Cartesian Tensor in Beam Dynamic Simulation
نویسندگان
چکیده
The fast multipole method (FMM) using traceless totally symmetric Cartesian tensor to calculate the Coulomb interaction between charged particles will be presented. The Cartesian tensor based FMM can be generalized to treat other non-oscillating interactions with the help of the differential algebra or the truncated power series algebra. Issues on implementation of the FMM in beam dynamic simulations are also discussed.

Simple recursive implementation of fast multipole method
In this paper we present an implementation of the well known “fast multipole” method for the efficient calculation of dipole fields, that uses polynomials in the Cartesian coordinates rather than spherical harmonics. This has considerable efficiency and simplicity advantages. We have implemented it in the context of an arbitrary hierarchical system of cells – no periodic mesh is required. The i...
متن کاملAdaptation and Performance of the Cartesian Coordinates Fast Multipole Method for Nanomagnetic Simulations
An implementation of the fast multiple method (FMM) is performed for magnetic systems with long-ranged dipolar interactions. Expansion in spherical harmonics of the original FMM is replaced by expansion of polynomials in cartesian coordinates, which is considerably simpler. Under open boundary conditions, an expression for multipole moments of point dipoles in a cell is derived. These make the ...
متن کاملA Comparative Study of Multipole and Empirical Relations Methods for Effective Index and Dispersion Calculations of Silica-Based Photonic Crystal Fibers
In this paper, we present a solid-core Silica-based photonic crystal fiber (PCF) composed of hexagonal lattice of air-holes and calculate the effective index and chromatic dispersion of PCF for different physical parameters using the empirical relations method (ERM). These results are compared with the data obtained from the conventional multipole method (MPM). Our simulation results reveal tha...
متن کاملRPYFMM: Parallel Adaptive Fast Multipole Method for Rotne-Prager-Yamakawa Tensor in Biomolecular Hydrodynamics Simulations
RPYFMM is a software package for the efficient evaluation of the potential field governed by the Rotne-Prager-Yamakawa (RPY) tensor interactions in biomolecular hydrodynamics simulations. In our algorithm, the RPY tensor is decomposed as a linear combination of four Laplace interactions, each of which is evaluated using the adaptive fast multipole method (FMM) [1] where the exponential expansio...
متن کاملA Hybrid Fast-Multipole Technique for Space-Charge Tracking With Halos
The simulation of injection and accumulation of intense proton beams in synchrotrons and accumulator rings requires a flexible and robust treatment of spacecharge effects. In particular, the simulation must be able to correctly incorporate the large-amplitude beam halo which is known to arise from a variety of mechanisms. This paper describes a technique for the efficient and accurate evaluatio...
